On May 6-8 a number of Club members toured Gettysburg Battlefield in Pennsylvania. The weather was beautiful. We visited various historic sites in vintage tour buses with excellent guides, had a ghost tour at night, and of course had at least one stop for ice cream. This event, designed to encourage those new to Model A touring, called a newbie tour, had 31 people attend, driving 16 Model As and 1 AA. The tour organizer had prepared a book ahead of time that listed the tour groups, meeting locations, schedule of activities, and turn-by-turn travel routes that included mileage and times. This was a wonderful opportunity to learn history while driving historic vehicles.
