Monocacy Battlefield Tour – April 5, 2014

By Steve Meyer

Wow! What a great trip for the Model A! After a delightful ride through the Montgomery County countryside, we arrived at the Battlefield. April 5 was Bell and History Day at the park, and they were celebrating the passage of time with train bells.

It turns out the battle took place at Monocacy Junction which was an important train switching yard for the B&O Railroad.  Suffice it to say the Monocacy Battle is the only one the South won on Union soil!
