Westminster Baptist Church Spring Fair
By Bud Carroll

This is a report on the activities that were available to the members of the GBMAFC on our annual trip to Westminster Baptist Church Spring Fair. We had a total of 15 cars from our club. There were other cars as well, a ’55 Chevy, ’57 Chevy, ’60 Chevy, an AMC (don’t know year), and various trucks and motorcycles available for display.

Upon arrival we were given 5 tickets so we could receive hot dogs and sodas for lunch. Each ticket was good for one item so we all had plenty to eat, as well as donuts and coffee for breakfast.

There was plenty of action throughout the day as they had a demonstration of a man carving wood stumps into various animal forms. The only problem was he was doing it about 50 feet from where we were displaying our cars. They also had a strong-man demonstration who tied his skills as a performer with a lesson of salvation to those who were interested. There were also plenty of vendors available to those of us who might have a hankering to pick up bargains. Jack Burke even had a table and I think he did a very good business.
The Church was also supplying food and clothing for those of limited in-come as an outreach to the neighborhood. This was done inside the main building.

Everyone attending had a good time and we left around 1:30 to 2:00 p.m.
