It was a dark and stormy morning as the four determined travelers departed their respective homes in the pre-dawn torrential rain on 1 November 2013. Steve Meyer, Don Keller, Butch Cornes, and Jon Miller each braved the morning rain and drove their Model A’s to meet at the McDonald’s in Lis-bon, MD as the starting point for our trip to Staunton, VA via Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah National Park. The weather forecast was for the rain to quickly move through the area and it did. After the first hour or so of driving in the pouring rain, we found ourselves back in the sunlight and welcomed the chance for our cars to dry off.
